Football Game Preview: Richland Bombers vs. Mount Si Wildcats

The Richland Bombers will be playing at home against the Mount Si Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland's defense has only allowed 10.6 points per game this season, so Mount Si's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Richland took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 15-14 victory over Kamiakin. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bombers have posted since October 31, 2024.

Richland found their leader in sophomore Micah Mayer, who rushed for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Richland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Hayden Galloway led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Meanwhile, Mount Si never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Redmond 69-0. The game marked the Wildcats' most dominant victory of the season.

Richland better keep an eye on Zach Hillblom. He was instrumental in Mount Si's win, rushing for 147 yards and two scores on only five carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Hillblom a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joseph Galvan, who rushed for 42 yards and a pair of TDs.

Mount Si was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redmond only rushed for 170.

Richland pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.3 points on average over those games. As for Mount Si, their record is now 3-6.
