Layton hadn't done well against Syracuse recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Lancers skirted past the Titans 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for Layton, who have now won three contests in a row.

Rudy Jensen and Cheyenne Mudrow scored both of Layton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Layton pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Syracuse, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
