Softball Recap: Gibbs Victorious

Gibbs won against Anderson County on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Eagles never let the Heritage Mountaineers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Gibbs got a massive performance out of Shelby Williams, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Brianna Baker, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Gibbs' victory bumped their record up to 24-12-2. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 18-11.

Coming up, Gibbs will be playing in front of their home fans against Silverdale Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Seahawks at the right time seeing as the Seahawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to take on Anderson County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
