Recap: Sierra Vista Dons vs. Edgewood Lions
There's no place like home for the Sierra Vista Dons, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 win over Edgewood on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sierra Vista also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
David Orozco continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Sierra Vista's points. Aaron Buna was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists.
Sierra Vista has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Edgewood, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Vista will be home for the holidays to greet Maywood Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood will be home for the holidays to greet Covina at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Covina presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Edgewood in California (Covina is ranked 336th, while Edgewood is ranked 862nd).
