Softball Recap: Summit Academy Bears vs. Ben Lomond Scots

Summit Academy had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-15 to make it 14. They lost 24-9 to the Ben Lomond Scots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 24-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Kaylee Luttio was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Addisen Lanier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Ben Lomond's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Ben Lomond's side, they got a massive performance out of Elliot Hauser, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Those four hits gave Hauser a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Huff, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Summit Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ben Lomond, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rowland Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
