Football Game Preview: Coral Springs Colts vs. Coral Springs Charter Panthers

The Coral Springs Colts will challenge the Coral Springs Charter Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Coral Springs' offense has struggled lately (they haven't scored a point in six consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Coral Springs' offense might be in the hot seat on Wednesday considering what happened against South Plantation on Wednesday. They were dealt a 33-0 defeat at the hands of the Paladins. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Paladins are ranked 85th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coral Springs Charter). They really took it to Avant Garde Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-0 victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 35 point advantage.

Coral Springs Charter's win came from a few key players Coral Springs will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ali Rodriquez, who threw for 200 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes. Another player making a difference was Eva Rodriquez, who picked up 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Coral Springs Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Macy Hall and Natalia Conte. Hall got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Coral Springs Charter and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.0 points on average over those games. As for Coral Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
