For the second straight game, Farmington will face off against Syracuse. The Phoenix will take on the Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Farmington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Farmington didn't have quite enough to beat Syracuse and fell 7-6.

For Syracuse's part, Ryder Martinez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Martinez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Syracuse let Colsten Thomas and Cohen Smedley run wild. Thomas went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Smedley went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Smedley a new career-high. Riley Carver was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Syracuse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Syracuse's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-18. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
