Baseball Game Preview: Cathedral Phantoms vs. Loyola Cubs

The Cathedral Phantoms are taking a road trip to take on the Loyola Cubs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cathedral is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Cathedral fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against La Salle on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, Loyola came up short against La Salle on Tuesday and fell 5-2. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loyola saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Bendel, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Loyola's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Cathedral, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Cathedral couldn't quite get it done against Loyola when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Phantoms avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
