Soccer Game Preview: Oasis vs. Lemon Bay

The Oasis Sharks are taking a road trip to square off against the Lemon Bay Manta Rays at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oasis is headed into the contest having not lost since December 4 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Port Charlotte a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lemon Bay, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Imagine School at North Port 1-0. Given the Manta Rays' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Sharks are ranked 238th), the result back in December of 2024 wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lemon Bay's one-goal win came courtesy of Paige Kirt, who's now up to six this season.

Oasis has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those nine contests. As for Lemon Bay, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-2.

Oasis came up short against Lemon Bay in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 5-3. Can Oasis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
