Soccer Game Preview: Ariton vs. Providence Christian

The Ariton Purple Cats will venture away from home to face off against the Providence Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ariton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Providence Christian will come in with seven straight victories.

Ariton lost 7-1 to Houston Academy on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Providence Christian kept a clean sheet against Pike Liberal Arts on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Patriots 1-0. Providence Christian's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

Ariton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Providence Christian, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2-4.

Ariton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Providence Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Purple Cats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
