Having just played yesterday, the Minto Lakers will get right back to it and host the Effie Kokrine Charter Warriors at 9:00 a.m. on February 9th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-44, which was the final score in Minto's tilt against Walter Northway on Thursday. Minto has struggled against Walter Northway recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Reese Gibson, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Ruth Fox, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Effie Kokrine Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Glennallen on the road and fell 59-13. Effie Kokrine Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-3.
Minto's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Effie Kokrine Charter, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.
