Basketball Recap: Abel Kirkwood's Big Game Can't Quite Lead EPIC Academy over Dusable

If EPIC Academy was feeling good fresh off their 54-30 takedown of Air Force Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The EPIC Academy The Legends might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the DuSable Panthers an easy 63-42 win.

EPIC Academy lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Abel Kirkwood, who posted ten points. Anthony Moore was another key player, putting up ten points.

EPIC Academy dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for DuSable, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

EPIC Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Shore International at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for DuSable, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the DuSable Panthers face off against the Julian Jaguars at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
