Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Commanders vs. Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy Lions

The Kennedy Commanders will venture away from home to take on the Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 11.

Last Friday, Kennedy lost to DMLK on the road by a 66-50 margin. The Commanders were down 57-37 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bruce Randolph.

Kennedy will have to contain Jamar Yelverton as he made an impact in Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy's last game. He almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Yelverton is now averaging an impressive 2.3 blocks per game. Jamier Majeed was another key player, putting up nine points.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
