Lincoln-Way Central strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Providence Catholic Celtics. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Celtics, too.
Mia Degliomini was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Teagan Berkshire also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Lincoln-Way Central's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Providence Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Coming up, Lincoln-Way Central will be playing at home against Munster at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Providence Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Laurence at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
