Baseball Recap: Chaminade Julienne Catholic Now 11-3 over Last 14 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Chaminade Julienne Catholic rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Bellbrook Golden Eagles 2-1. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Eagles, too.

Charlie Hoagland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chaminade Julienne Catholic saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Clune, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Chaminade Julienne Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.
