Baseball Recap: Pallotti Find Success

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pallotti had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Concordia Prep Saints, sneaking past 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won five in a row.

Andrew Armstrong looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Pallotti: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gus Chackmakian-Lodge, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Pallotti's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 7-11 when he doesn't). Steven Buckner was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Pallotti's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Concordia Prep, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Pallotti has already played their next match (against Beth Tfiloh), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Concordia Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
