Football Recap: Kenton Wildcats vs. Celina Bulldogs
Kenton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 70-35 loss at the hands of the Celina Bulldogs. The Wildcats lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 38-35 score last time.
Despite the loss, Kenton still got an impressive performance from Xavier Gammon, who threw for 498 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one score. The Wildcats' leading receiver Maddux McFarlin was Gammon's top target yet again, picking up 173 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Kenton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Celina, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenton will take on Defiance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Celina, they will square off against Elida at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
