In Wednesday's Canine Competition, Wiseburn- Da Vinci prevailed. They put the hurt on the Rolling Hills Prep Huskies with a sharp 14-4 win on Wednesday. Considering the Wolves have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nathaniel Barba was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Edward Sanchez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Barba wasn't the only one making solid contact: Wiseburn- Da Vinci kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rolling Hills Prep only managed four hits.
The victory made it two in a row for Wiseburn- Da Vinci and bumps their season record up to 13-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Rolling Hills Prep, they moved to 4-4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Wiseburn- Da Vinci will take on Peninsula at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Rolling Hills Prep, they will square off against Santa Ana Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.93 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
