Basketball Preview: Tolman Tigers vs. Chariho Chargers
The Tolman Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chariho Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Monday, Tolman strolled past the Patriots with points to spare, taking the game 74-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tolman.
Tolman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isiah Gois, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Pape Fall, who scored 12 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Chariho ended up a good deal behind the Saints on Monday and lost 72-55. While losing is never fun, Chariho can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Saints are ranked sixth).
Tolman's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Chariho, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Tolman took a serious blow against the Chargers in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 67-38. Can Tolman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
