Basketball Recap: Wensly Guillaume's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage over St. Cloud + How To Watch

Heritage played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 77-54 to the St. Cloud Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 525th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 101st).

Heritage's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wensly Guillaume, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 10 points and six boards. Guillaume is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ray Taveras, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Diomar Ortiz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Cloud, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Ortiz a new career-high in blocks (four). Elias Torres was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight assists and five boards.

Heritage now has a losing record of 4-5. As for St. Cloud, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-28 win against Space Coast on the 12th. As for St. Cloud, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-44 victory against Harmony on the 12th.
