Baseball Game Preview: Wando Warriors vs. Goose Creek Gators

For the second straight game, Wando will face off against Goose Creek. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wando has four straight victories, Goose Creek has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Wando's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Goose Creek.

Corbin Martens and Brady Gold did most of the damage at the plate: Martens went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI, while Gold went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those three hits gave Martens a new career-high. Jake Downing was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Wando was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wando pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Goose Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-2.
