Baseball Recap: Dundee Triumphs

Dundee let Hudson stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Tuesday but luckily Dundee prevailed anyway. The Vikings skirted past the Tigers 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Cam Fairchild made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Dundee is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-4 otherwise. Fairchild was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Fairchild wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Mason, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

The victory got Dundee back to even at 5-5. As for Hudson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Coming up, Dundee will square off against Napoleon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hudson will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' matchup: after the Vikings face off against the Pirates, they'll take on Hudson again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
