Softball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside and Riverbend squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Riverside had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 7-5. The Ram were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Jaiden McCallum made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrie Merced, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Riverbend, the win was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-3.

Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverbend, they will square off against Lightridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bolts have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
