Recap: Red Lake Warriors vs. Laporte Wildcats
The Red Lake Warriors's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on Laporte with a sharp 64-43 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Red Lake also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Red Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Pemberton led the charge by scoring 25 points along with five steals. Pemberton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ce?Angela Pemberton, who scored 18 points along with five steals.
Red Lake's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Laporte, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Lake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cass Lake-Bena at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. One thing working in Cass Lake-Bena's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Laporte, they will head out on the road to face off against Blackduck at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
