Cathedral Prep has gone 8-2 against Warren recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Ramblers will square off against the Dragons at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cathedral Prep has three straight victories, Warren has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Cathedral Prep narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Meadville 5-4.
JP Poranski looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Costello, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Owen Fetzner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Warren came up short against General McLane on Wednesday, falling 16-1.
Warren saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Cochran, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Cathedral Prep's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Warren, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
Warren's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cathedral Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. It's a different story for Warren, though, as they've only averaged .327. Will they be able to contain Cathedral Prep's hitters?
Cathedral Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Warren when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ramblers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
