Basketball Recap: Hillsdale Takes a Loss

Hillsdale lost against Smithville back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hillsdale Falcons were dealt a 49-22 defeat at the hands of the Smithville Smithies. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 635th, while the Smithies are ranked 115th).

This is the second loss in a row for Hillsdale and nudges their season record down to 4-14. As for Smithville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsdale has already played their next matchup (against Rittman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Smithville is taking a road trip to face off against Norwayne at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Norwayne's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
