Baseball Game Preview: Tranquillity Tigers vs. Mendota Aztecs

Tranquillity is 0-10 against Mendota since May of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will square off against the Aztecs at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tranquillity took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Avenal, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers skirted past the Buccaneers 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Mendota hadn't done well against Firebaugh recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Aztecs never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Aztecs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Mendota pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Tranquillity, their victory bumped their record up to 2-12.

Tranquillity might still be hurting after the 24-14 defeat they got from Mendota in their previous meeting on April 4th. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
