Baseball Game Preview: Loretto Mustangs vs. Battle Creek Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Loretto will face off against Battle Creek. Loretto will venture away from home to face off against Battle Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Loretto is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Battle Creek on Monday. The Mustangs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 15, 2024.

Grayson Burleson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Burleson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Loretto let Grant Fisher and Casen Springer run wild. Fisher scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Springer scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Fisher a new career-high.

Loretto's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Battle Creek, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
