Softball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Jackson

With a playoff win on the line, Jackson rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They didn't even let the Waverly Tigers on the board, marking their second-straight 5-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-1 back in March.

The result came thanks to Serenity Taylor's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Jackson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauryn Walburn, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Walburn has posted since back in April.

Jackson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Waverly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Jackson nor Waverly have any future games scheduled.
