Softball Recap: Mission San Jose Warriors vs. Newark Memorial Cougars
Mission San Jose had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it four. They lost 18-1 to the Newark Memorial Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-3 back in March.
As for Newark Memorial, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.
For Newark Memorial's part, Caitlyn Rose was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rose was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
