Preview: A&M Consolidated Tigers vs. Cedar Park Timberwolves

The A&M Consolidated Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cedar Park Timberwolves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with A&M Consolidated sitting on three straight victories and Cedar Park on six.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but A&M Consolidated had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 31-19 victory over the Chargers.

Among those leading the charge was Trey Taylor, who rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Taylor's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards. Will Hargett was another key contributor, throwing for 214 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Cedar Park didn't have too much trouble with Angleton on the road on Friday as they won 21-3. Given Cedar Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Angleton is ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cedar Park's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ayden Arp, who threw for 128 yards and a touchdown, and Trae Hill, who gained 196 total yards and two touchdowns.

A&M Consolidated has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Cedar Park, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as both teams have no problem gaining yardage. A&M Consolidated has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 350.9 total yards per game. However, it's not like Cedar Park struggles in that department as they've been even better at 362.7 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

A&M Consolidated was able to grind out a solid win over Cedar Park in their previous meeting back in September, winning 24-16. Does A&M Consolidated have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cedar Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
