Basketball Game Preview: Leola/Frederick Titans vs. Waverly/South Shore Coyotes

The Leola/Frederick Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Waverly/South Shore Coyotes at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Leola/Frederick knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Waverly/South Shore likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Leola/Frederick earned a 56-47 victory over Roncalli.

Meanwhile, Waverly/South Shore won against Aberdeen Christian on Thursday with 45 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Waverly/South Shore sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 win over Aberdeen Christian. That's two games straight that the Coyotes have won by exactly three points.

The victory was the third in a row for Waverly/South Shore, bringing their record for this year to 4-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Leola/Frederick, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Leola/Frederick was able to grind out a solid victory over Waverly/South Shore when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 63-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leola/Frederick since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
