Volleyball Game Preview: Intrinsic Mustangs vs. Schurz Bulldogs

The Intrinsic Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Schurz Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Intrinsic sitting on four straight victories and Schurz on five.

Intrinsic had won three straight home games and Ethan Miranda did his part to make it four on Wednesday. The Mustangs came out on top against Clemente by a score of 2-0 thanks in part to Miranda, who had 17 digs and six aces. He has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times he's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Intrinsic took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9.

Meanwhile, Schurz was able to grind out a solid win over Chicago Academy on Wednesday, taking the game 2-0.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-24.

Intrinsic's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Schurz, their win bumped their record up to 9-7-1.
