Baseball Game Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Willow Spring Storm

For the second straight game, Middle Creek will face off against Willow Spring. The Mustangs will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Storm at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Middle Creek is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 9-0 to Willow Spring on Wednesday.

For Willow Spring's part, they gave Alex Smith the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Willow Spring got a big performance out of Bryce Marsh, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. What's more, Marsh posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Gio Tafalla, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
