Baseball Recap: Archbishop Wood Has No Trouble Against Roman Catholic

Archbishop Wood never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Roman Catholic on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Cahillite. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Mason Burlingame looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Vacca, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Sebastian McNab was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Archbishop Wood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Archbishop Wood's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Roman Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Coming up, Archbishop Wood will challenge East Pennsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 23rd straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Roman Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
