Volleyball Recap: Smethport Falls to Coudersport in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Smethport unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Coudersport Falcons on Thursday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Smethport took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-12, 25-19.

Alyssa Ayers paced Smethport's offense, picking up eight kills. Ayers got some help from Jenna Goodman and her 14 assists.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Smethport will take on rival Austin at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Coudersport is set to face off against their familiar foe Port Allegany at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
