Volleyball Recap: Sauk Prairie Beats Mcfarland for Their Fourth Straight Win

Sauk Prairie entered their tilt with McFarland on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Spartans. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sauk Prairie was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-14, 16-25, 15-25, 25-18, 15-8.

Leading Sauk Prairie to victory were Bentlee Conway and Mallory Hartwig. Conway had 12 digs and four aces, while Hartwig had 19 kills, ten digs, and two aces. Hartwig has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 28 times she's played. Mackenna Murphy also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Sauk Prairie was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, McFarland still got an impressive performance from Talia Riemen, who had 14 digs and three aces.

Sauk Prairie's record is now 21-3. As for McFarland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-17 record this season.

Sauk Prairie will face off against Waunakee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McFarland, they will look to defend their home court on the 16th against Monona Grove at 7:00 p.m.
