Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Titans vs. Memorial Warriors

Centennial hasn't had much luck against Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Centennial Titans will take on the Memorial Warriors at 7:15 p.m.

Centennial is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost to Independence at home by a 40-24 margin. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Memorial had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Trail Blazers, posting a 79-48 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 621st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Centennial came up short against Memorial when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 56-51. Can Centennial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
