There's no place like home for University City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Madison Warhawks on Thursday as they made off with a 14-1 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 14-1 victory back in April.
Aliyah Padilla tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Zoe Gregory and Alyssa Castillo did most of the damage at the plate: Gregory got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI and two runs, while Castillo got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave Gregory a new career-high. Sydni Sandoval was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
