Basketball Game Preview: Horizon Christian Academy Warriors vs. South Paulding Spartans

After both having extra time off, the Horizon Christian Academy Warriors and the South Paulding Spartans will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Horizon Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their match last Saturday with ease, bagging a 74-45 victory over Dunwoody. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 29 points or more this season.

Horizon Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nyla Black out in front who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists. Black is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Pender, who went 7 of 15 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Horizon Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, South Paulding earned a 55-44 victory over Temple last Saturday.

Horizon Christian Academy pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for South Paulding, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
