Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Mules vs. Flora Wolves

The Fairfield Mules will square off against the Flora Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Fairfield's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Flora has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Fairfield beat Edwards County 54-48. The win continues a trend for the Mules in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Flora played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Althoff Catholic and fell 76-45. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while the Crusaders are ranked 26th).

Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Flora, their loss dropped their record down to 8-19.

Fairfield was able to grind out a solid win over Flora in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 44-34. Will Fairfield repeat their success, or does Flora have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
