Basketball Game Preview: Walnut Ridge Bobcats vs. Harrisburg Hornets

The Walnut Ridge Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Harrisburg Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walnut Ridge has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 13.

Last Tuesday, Walnut Ridge had to suffer through a 70-41 loss at the hands of Newport. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 109th).

Meanwhile, Harrisburg hadn't done well against Rivercrest recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Harrisburg came out on top against Rivercrest by a score of 53-44. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Hornets were the better team in the second half.

Harrisburg has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Walnut Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Walnut Ridge came up short against Harrisburg when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-47. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Harrisburg's Jayvin Thompson, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points and four steals.
