Volleyball Game Preview: Westfield Shamrocks vs. Fishers Tigers

Westfield is 1-8 against Fishers since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Shamrocks will square off against the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.

Westfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Carmel. The victory continues a trend for the Shamrocks in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won five in a row.

Westfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Graham Weddige, who had 22 assists and five digs. That's the most assists Weddige has posted over his last seven contests. Evan Huhn was another key player, getting 13 assists and six digs.

Meanwhile, Fishers faced Hamilton Southeastern in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past the Royals 3-0.

Westfield's record now sits at 20-8. As for Fishers, their record is now 27-4.

Westfield couldn't quite get it done against Fishers when the teams last played back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Shamrocks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
