The Dunlap Eagles will head out to square off against the Fieldcrest Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Dunlap is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Dunlap came up short against Joliet Catholic and fell 7-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jackson Newton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Rennette, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Fieldcrest entered their match against Jacksonville on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Fieldcrest came up short against Jacksonville, falling 9-2.

Fieldcrest suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Dunlap, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Dunlap skirted past Fieldcrest 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dunlap since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
