After only 22 points in their last game, Maplesville made sure to put some points up on the board against Verbena on Monday. Everything went the Maplesville Red Devils' way against the Verbena Red Devils as the Maplesville Red Devils made off with a 60-40 win. Maplesville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Maplesville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nehemiah Mccary out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Devon Nix, who posted 11 points and five assists.

Caleb Short and Kamari Ceasar certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Short went 5 of 8 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Ceasar had 11 points and three steals. Short has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Wilson, who put up five points and three steals.

Maplesville's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Verbena, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Maplesville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-50 loss against Jemison on the 8th. As for Verbena, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-46 victory against Autaugaville on the 13th.
