Basketball Game Preview: Brandeis Broncos vs. Clark Cougars

Brandeis is 2-8 against Clark since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Brandeis Broncos will head out to square off against the Clark Cougars at 5:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Brandeis came up short against Churchill and fell 59-51. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Chargers are ranked 29th).

Despite the defeat, Brandeis got top-tier performance from Mia Ramos, who went 8 of 19 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Ramos has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Pierson, who posted seven points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clark, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past Madison with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 41-24. The Cougars pushed the score to 32-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mavericks cut but never quite recovered from.

Clark's victory bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Brandeis, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-17.

Brandeis didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Clark when the teams last played on January 8th, but they still walked away with a 41-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brandeis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
