Basketball Game Preview: Bellevue Christian Vikings vs. Annie Wright Gators

Bellevue Christian is on a nine-game streak of home wins, while Annie Wright is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bellevue Christian Vikings will host the Annie Wright Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Bellevue Christian blew past Life Christian Academy, posting a 67-26 win. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Eagles are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Annie Wright had no trouble coming through when it counted. They beat East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 79-27. With the Gators ahead 33-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Annie Wright is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Bellevue Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 20-2.

Bellevue Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Annie Wright when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 56-48. Will Bellevue Christian repeat their success, or does Annie Wright have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
