Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Rylen Murray and Eli Jones Lead Norton to Victory

Norton's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 68-56 victory over the Plainville Cardinals. The Bluejays haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Norton was led to victory by Eli Jones and Rylen Murray. Jones went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and five rebounds, while Murray went 8 of 14 to rack up 20 points. Murray's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyce Melvin, who posted 11 points.

Norton's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Plainville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norton will welcome Hill City at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Norton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season. As for Plainville, they will be playing at home against Logan on Tuesday. Plainville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Logan likes a good challenge.
