Baseball Recap: Allen Park Extends Winning Streak to Four

Allen Park barely beat Carlson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars blew past the Marauders 11-1 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 back in April.

Reece Phillips was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Phillips was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Matelic, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Joey Sackrison was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Allen Park's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Carlson, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-9 record.

Coming up, Allen Park will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Escanaba at 11:00 a.m. As for Carlson, they will head out to take on Riverview at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
