Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. High Tech CV Bruins

Mountain Empire hasn't had much luck against High Tech CV recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Redhawks will take on the Bruins at 3:15 p.m. Mountain Empire will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Mountain Empire gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Liberty Charter.

Luis Cardoso was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Cardoso was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mountain Empire let Cameron Leon and Cayden Spears run wild. Leon got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Spears went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Spears a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jesse Arnold, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Southwest SD hit High Tech CV with a seven-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bruins came up short against the Raiders, falling 12-2. The Bruins have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

High Tech CV saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Cardoso, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Mountain Empire's record now sits at 9-4. As for High Tech CV, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
